THIS WAS NOT DRAWN BY ME. I only COLORED it. The line art was done by Gisele Lagace (go support her move to more P&A updates by donating!). =GermanCityGirl had commissioned her to do a drawing of her original Jedi character, Tanake Trang, and since Gisele was happy with the coloring I did for Penny and Aggie (cast page and the Undertow arc guest strips), so she asked me if I could do the colors for her on this commissioned piece. Naturally, I was delighted and was glad to accept the job. Hopefully I'll get more in the future!
This took awhile to do, mostly due to both of us being guilty of taking our time to answer e-mails between me and GCG. The .psd filesize quickly grew ENORMOUS, so it slowed my computer down a lot when the file was open and sometimes Photoshop had to take a minute to process just selecting the eraser. It's finally done, though, and I'm pretty satisfied with it.
Also: Wow, the new submission system IS confusing. o_O I wasn't sure if I should put this in Fan Art since it's a Jedi character, even though she is an original character, but I've heard of the gallery administrators deleting Star Wars original characters deviations for not being under the "Fan Art" category, so I'll just play safe.
I never say no to crits, but if you really want to pick it apart please send me a note. Feel free to compliment the line art, Gisele will be reading these!
Detail shots, since the image you see here is like 8% the size of the original: [link][link][link]
Photoshop CS2. (I think Gisele used a version of Photoshop for the line art as well, since she said it's 100% digital.)
Very nice coloring job! The lighting looks pretty accurate--the only thing that might be needed would be some more shading in the folds of the fallen fabric. Otherwise, great work!
I really like it, but I think a darker grey for the background might've done it more justice, so you could see the illumination from the saber thingy on her back.
Other than that, its uber awesome. I really like how you colored it. <3
