Yue, as seen in the end of A:TLA season 1. DAMN it took a lot of work to get her outfit right! Especially since apparently they changed their minds about the way her hair looks in the swamp episode*.

I'll admit I cheated on the sky - it's mostly a Photoshop thing (personally I would prefer less stars, but drawing it manually didn't look so hot =/) using this tutorial. I also looked at a picture of the moon for ref purposes (although it doesn't actually look like the reference I used). Other than that and the glow around the moon, it as all drawn by hand and from memory.
Edit* Oh, and this was done only at school. Took some time for me to bring it home because I don't own a flash drive yet. :(

*SPOILER!

[link] BAM IT'S GONE. I went with this hairdo because the other one required way too much hair to work and didn't look possible. <_<

**edit: OH I forgot the close-ups. Here (both zoomed at 50%): [link] [link]

Curious about who this Tanake Trang is?
:iconwebreever:
Damn..I know how you did the lighting (well in photoshop you would use Layer>New Layer> Screen> Neutral Fill-Color Black. From there you would use a large brush, not the solid circle but a more shaded edge, with a low to medium Opacity depending on the work). But I was wondering how you made the stars in the background. It's random, but placed very well, and I love the moon. Did you Cut and Paste the real moon in their then used the Blur and Smudge tool on it?

Since you left, I have been filling my heart with darkness; my enemies have melded with my soul, and my friends have been burned at the stake. Since you left, I have no comfort. The spines tear the flesh and leave the tissue red.

The lighting? As in... the coloring? Because I didn't do that neutral fill-color thing. I don't even know what that is. <_<

Didn't I link the tutorial for the starfield in the description?

And... No, I drew the moon. I looked at a picture of our moon, although it hardly resembles it.

T'is neither here nor there.

You did, I'm sorry, didn't see the link! Oh and you used Photoshop right? To do that you just Hit Layer>New Layer> and when the new menu for the layer comes up, there will be a scroll bar for what type of layer you want, hit Screen, and fill it with the Neutral Fill Color Black. The layer must be above your original layer, and when you click the Screen layer, it won't show the Neutral Color Black. Just go to your brush menu and instead of using the regular circular brush (the solid edge) use the softened circular brush (I'm sorry I don't know the "proper" brush names! Dx). Select the Opacity, usually under 75% works best, depending on what effect you want, and use a very large scale brush (depending on size of your image, I would use something greater than 120). Also, using the Airbrush mode works well too. You just pick a light color, and the Screen should do the rest.

Savvy?

I love your moon (though I can't see the face) ^_^
And I love the flow of Yue's dress. It's luscious.
I love how you can see the moonlight filtered through the sleeve of her dress. It's gorgeous.
